I’m sure this has been done before, and it’s certainly nothing special, but, this is my first try at posting a recipe, so don’t be too harsh.
I call it Simple Shrimp (on the bahbee).
Ingredients:
1 lb. 21-30 shrimp, thawed
Dozen, or so, sweet grape or cherry tomatoes
Half dozen, or so, sweet mini peppers
EVOO
Old Bay
The shrimp come frozen. I buy them when my local supermarket puts them on sale – buy 2 get 3 free. The best part with these is that they are already deveined!
The first step is to soak those skewers. I usually start that at least an hour before anything else.
When the shrimp are thawed, remove the shells. Cut off the stem end of the peppers, then cut each one in half, going across the pepper, not down the length of it. Put the shrimp, peppers, and tomatoes into a mixing bowl and drizzle with EVOO. Then mix in a liberal amount of Old Bay, making sure that everything is covered evenly.
You can either skewer them up right away, or keep them in the fridge for a while.
I use about a full load of briquettes for this cook. I know it’s wasteful, but, I like the results, and besides, I don’t know any other way.
Once the charcoal is ready, I dump it along the center of Little Man, in between the two side baskets. A full load gives me a nice even layer from one end to the other.
Then simply line up those little puppies.

After 4-5 minutes, give ‘em a flip. Notice that by cutting the peppers across the middle, you can get some nice char on the skin.

Just 4-5 minutes later it’s dinner time.

I don't have the grill grates, are they specific to Weber?

Thanks for the comments everyone!
The Grill Grate looks like an excellent product. Assuming it works as advertised, I may put it on the list for Santa.

I haven't met anyone who has tried the grill grates who hasn't loved them. They really work as advertised.

That looks great!
Buying shrimp like that has some advantages if you can't catch 'em yourself or get them right off the boat. They are usually frozen very soon after they are caught. Many times they are process right on the boats. With them frozen you can pull out just how many you want.
The sweet peppers are great to have on hand and the cheapest place I've found them is at a discount chain called Aldi's.

Yep, add me to the list of a VERY SATISFIED GrillGrate customer. GG's was the best investment I made to my WSJ and will use them on other grills too. ;)

That's why I never eat shrimp in a restaurant. They almost always overcook them.
It really only takes a few minutes on each side. If you're going to add any veggies that take longer, be sure to put them on their own skewers so you can start them early.
