SRG topping out at 200 degrees!
« Reply #-1 on: November 26, 2014, 11:25:42 AM »
Oh man , I went to use the SRG last night and the most I could get out of her was 200 degrees tops....   I tried to free up the regulator with no luck.
Cant get an easy replacement in time for tomorrow so its modification time...
Made a trip to the hardware store to build a connection so I can use the regulator off the banjo burner. :o
Cant wait to see the flames that puppy will kick out with that reg on it !

Did you take the control panel off the front and remove the venturi tube and clean that, Tommy had me do that when mine wasn't getting hot and it solved it in about 5 minutes.

it's the regulator on the tank. take the regulator off of the tank and put it back on
turn on the tank and let it sit for about 30"sec before you turn on the valve on the SRG
every CharBroil product I've ever had does this. my RED did it too (gone)
my SRG is my last CharBroil product ;)

Capt. Jack is right about it being the tank reg. unfortunaly it is perminantly stuck. This is the third time this has happened between my TBE and SRG over the years.
I did clean out the screen using a lighter to burn out any webs.
I used the 30 PSI reg from the Banjo Burner and adjusted it down with the inline valve. It actually worked better than it ever has before. I think the old reg has always had a bit of a problem.
That 30 will get the temp up supper fast !
