Great grill smoke.  How do you clean the ash out of them?

Cleaning is a snap:  you can either open up the two bottom vents and brush out the ash.........but the best way is to take off the lid. It is hinged to lock in place but when the top is in the closed position it just lifts right up. The bottom pc just rests in the stand. Pick it up and dump it in the trash and you are ready for the next cook.

Captain Jack, please rethink the Char-Broil aluminum grill. Those bad boys are darn near non-existent. You will probably never find another one.  Just think this one over a bit.

If you still decide to part with it, pm me and we will work out shipping to the San Bernardino mountains  8) 8)

Well, only one cook so far, did -4- Rib-Eyes and just like the Weber, you grill with the lid down. The Mfg claims with all 4 vents completely wide open that you still do not get enough air in the PK to support a flame. That turned out to be true because I did not trim the fat off of the steaks and had no flare-ups at all. The aluminum grill really gets hot. The grill seals up air tight and I have a bunch of coals left over for tonights cook......so far so good.....

Tough one my 49 er loving Cali buddy. I think the PK will actually outlast the Performer. The Performer is a bit larger.  Both?   If you already have a Performer, if you can grab an PK (you never see them for sale on CL or Ebay) go for it.

The PK is so airtight, the coals go out real fast. Here I am using the coals from yesterdays cook for some English Bangers

They say in the owners manual if you 1/2 close all dampers your internal temp will drop around 50 degrees for some slower grilling.....so I did

Added the littlemore cooking grate (which is included in the Fall Grilling Bundle, Sparky  ;) ) and got the buns warmed while the bangers finished up

This is a very fun grill to use. You can kick it Old School and cook grub like another generation did, so many years ago.......to be continued.....

I was at estate sale a few years back and saw one of the old 1950's model PK's for sale for $20. It needed new cooking and charcoal grates but was in perfect shape otherwise. I did not know they were making them again and I could have bought replacement grates. I wish I had bought it.
