Like the old Country and Western song, or something, "I don't care what you call me...just call me."  Dee

"I don't care what you call me just don't call me late for supper" sorta fits with this group

Count me in with the doesn't really matter crowd as well.  Even though I have thousands of post on another forum, being a "newbie" sure didn't cause me to loose any sleep last night! ;)

Perhaps instead of "Newbie", "New Member" would be more accurate?

I never even look at the designation. If someone comes on and posts they are new member I try and welcome them. If I see a name I don't recognize I look at the number of posts instead of their rank. There are a heck of a lot of "newbies" here that are freaking experts. I come in a couple of times every day and click on the "show unread posts since last visit" and read every single post. Went down to the beach last weekend for 4 days and even though I took my notebook I didn't have time to keep up. I had major withdrawal but major fun catching up when I got back.

Just out of curiosity, why do we have "group categories" at all?  Why not delete them except maybe for administrators?

Hmmm so why is there blue ink on the board. Lets just make it one color.................. BLACK

I think we have reached a quorum of opinion on this topic...... :D ANd - that seems to be, that it really does not matter.

But - if I mis-read this, feel freel to let me know! ;D

It is an option that everyone has when you are on the reply page. Sometimes I will use a color. It is just for fun - and to make something stand out.

...so why is there blue ink on the board...

Devo - three reasons.

    1.  Primarily so my aging (and often whisky-clouded) eyes can see/correct/edit what I've typed before I hit the "Post" button, but also
    2.  So that you will be able to easily identify my contributions and pay close attention to their invaluable content, or
    3.  So that you will be able to easily identify my contributions and know you won't miss anything if you skip over them without a further glance.

I think we have reached a quorum of opinion on this topic...... it really does not matter...

Finally this horse is approaching the "too dead to beat" stage.  Maybe.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion
