Pellet Grilling Tip

Clean out your grill after using up each 40lb bag of pellets. This is a great starting point for how often to clean out your pellet grill! Over time you will get to know your grill, and have a more specific understanding of how frequently it needs to be cleaned out.

That is a great tip, I just kinda worry after an extra long cook about the fire-pot having build up in it for the next start up.

I am one of those maniacs that cleans the fire-pot after every cook

I appreciate what you guys are saying about cleaning prior to each long cook....
And I think the context of what GrillGirl is saying - is at least...clean out every bag of pellets burned.

As experienced as some of us are - we have a tendency to forget the importance of the basics, that formed the basis of god habits in the care and feeding of our equipment.

But, we should remember the new to pellet grilling folks...and try to pass on those basics we have forgotten the importance of.

I will tell you just how important they can be: I am about to rebuild/update a MAK 2 Star that has several inches of de-organisized grease and ash in the belly of it.It is basically hard, shellac. This is from no cleaning out of the ash and grease ..ever.... apparently.  ;D

See what I mean about the importance of the basics? :D :D :D
One can wonder why the fellow that owned it became frustrated that it would not work for him...... ;) ;D
BBQ is neither verb or noun. It is an experience.
