Who owns - THANKS
« Reply #-1 on: January 12, 2013, 10:47:30 AM »
All,

Well, it has certainly been interesting to read all the posts. Seems like there is great interest/passion for pellet grills. And not being a pellet grill owner, I have learned a great deal and want to thank everyone for participating in the polls as a whole.  I am hoping that anyone sitting on the edge about buying a particular smoker, whether pellet, electric, or whatever has learned something useful that helps in making a decision. Thanks to all.

Before I joined the Sizzle on the Grill site 3 years ago, I was all about charcoal and wood and nothing else. i used to laugh at people at the hardware store when I saw them looking at gassers and steered some away to get a Weber charcoal grill. But being on the forum and seeing the fun and good eats on different equipment really opened my eyes. I realized that it doesn't matter what type of pit you cook on.....as long as you and your family enjoy the food and as long as you enjoy the pit you cook on...that is all that really matters.............

Started using charcoal a couple of months ago. Having fun with it. Scorched a spot on my deck, a few other bumps in the road.  Will be using it mostly for searing. My Mak 2 star just doesn't get hot enough.

This has been an interesting series . . . glad you started it.  When all is said and done and the shouting is finished, the fat lady is singing and the tax man has been paid along with the piper, the winner is almost always the cook with the most skill, not the cook with the costliest toys  ::)

Pap - have you tried using the flame zone, and Grill Grates in your Mak 2?

I have. I think I will give it another go. I actually bought the full drip plan and just planned on my Mak being my low and slow machine and baker. I have not given up.
