Decided to pay Tribute to our Awesome Armed forces today. Traditionally called Navy Bean soup, I wanted to change it to Marine bean soup cause I can. It's our forum, Tim Said
Marine Bean Soup4- Ham Hocks
1- Small bag of Navy Beans
3- Brussell Sprouts (Broccolli or cabbage works too)
1- Small Turnip
1- Celery stock and middle leaves
1- Pealed carrot
1/4- Green Pepper
3- Cloves of Garlic
1- Small yellow Onion
1/4- Cup fresh parsley
1/2- tsp white pepper
1/4- tsp salt
Chunk cut all the veggies up and place in blender. toss in salt and pepper. Fill blender up the rest of the way with water. Run blender on slow for 15 to 20 seconds until you get the size veggies you like. Pour Beans in large cast iron pot and look for rocks and bad beans. Place 4 hamhocks on top of beans and pour veggie mixture over beans and hocks. You may need another cup of water to completely cover hocks.
Place pot on stove and cook on medium heat until it comes to a boil the simmer for 6 hours. Take out hocks and clean the meat from the bones and skin and put back in the pot and simmer one more hour. Take a potato masher and lightly mash one side of the pot of beans but not all the beans. Salt and pepper to tatse, stir and serve.

Spoons up
Sometimes I add a can of V8 to the mix too but not today
