Hey Pam, I too think you made a great choice.  This is a very versatile cooker.

There are plenty of additions/aftermarket add-ons, so, down the road, you can do even more.

Can't wait to see what tasty treats you come up with . . .

I can't argue with the Captain about the virtues of the Old Smokey.  Kinda hard to beat a Weber though. Great choice Pam. You will be a fine addition to Weber Nation.

Now back to my Old Smokey.....................

Here we go again!  LOL   I have a CharBroil 940X--basically the third one I've owned.  The other two are still in use.   Not cheap, I know, BUT, heavy steel, cast iron grates (which can't be beat, IMHO), large enough to cook just about anything you want--have done enough hamburgers to feed 16 people and provide seconds, turkeys up to 24lbs, couple of good sized roasts, HUGE briskets, etc.

Holds the heat VERY well, and with my SMK attachment have had it smoke for close to 8 hours without having to add anything but more wood chunks.    CB has recently reduced the price from what I paid, and if you're an Amazon Prime member, can get free two day shipping.

Look it over--trust me, it merits some serious consideration.

I understand about the cb940..had my eye on a cb740 for $99 on craigslist..then I had a stroke..bummer..so there that went. too bad..would have been perfect size for me.,but I'm happy with what I got and it's pretty too..it has to be pretty..lol.  Thank all you guys for your support. This is my campground cooker now.  Pam    .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Pam, I know you'll get  a lot of great use out of the kettle.  I really like that color too. There's one at Lowe's they put out to temp me every time I walk in there.
Cant wait to see your first kettle pizza!

Enjoy the Weber! Just got mine from my dad (he "upgraded" to a pellet grill). Classic piece of Americana. You'll love it. ;D

This Weber is fabulous..took me about an hour to put her together, I looked at the pictures. Then the chimney was on it in one minute starting my charcoal. I made a spatchcocked chicken first, she was beautiful, using the indirect method with the baskets. Unicorn greasy cheeseburgers the next day with lots of people waiting,,no pics again. Next day a unicorn mustard honey glazed spiral sliced ham. All were fabulous. Hard to take pics with ppl waiting for you but I will try better. Love the Weber and she is now my copper kettle.  Pam    .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ
