Title: Draper's BBQ stainless Shakers
Post by: Phil LaMarche on June 16, 2012, 01:19:25 PM
Just a heads up!  Ordered two of these.  They are really great quality but the shaker holes are too small for rubs etc.  Only fine salt and pepper.  Disappointed but not negative about the shakers......

There shakers work with the Draper rubs quite well Phil. All of T's rubs will work as well with the exception of Way Out West.

They should state on their description that the shakers are for a fine grind.

I have one I enlarged the holes with the end of a pair of scissors and it is full of your Awake A Steak and works just fine!!  ;)

I ordered one with some sauce and seasonings, got the order this week. Looking at the shaker I was thinking the same but haven't tried it yet. My thoughts are I can always drill the holes a tad larger.

Sparky..If the ingrediant is larger than the hole, you can shake all you want.  I too will drill larger holes and I also emailed Draper to see if they had tops with larger holes. Great shakers, was not complaining, just letting all know about the hole size...Phil

I think Draper's figures that their rubs work fine with those shakers and they sure do...but they have to realize there are lots more rubs out there and they should take that in consideration................

Hey Sparky, I bet if you had Sweet Lou's Roast Rub in those Draper shakers you could shake till the cows come home and still not get any out!!!  :D ;D :D
