Post by: Pappymn on April 03, 2015, 01:04:08 PM
Saw this today at my favorite garden store. Not sure about this thing. Any opinions?

What does it do?  Does it tumble the items placed inside?  Like a rock polisher?

Looks like the pieces just flop around in there while they cook. Easy to get out ...  Id hate to have to wash it though.

You'd think it would knock off any rub you had on them....

And that whole cleaning thing.

Yep, I agree lots of rub lost and difficult to clean. Might be quite a mess in there until the skin starts firming up.  ???

With the meat bouncing around inside you would think the skin would fall off

Oh I'm not buying it. But it does confirm my opinion that this great store really needs help in the BBQ area. They are not stocking the good stuff.
How tumbled do you like your chicken? ???

I think you're supposed to coat the inside with Tenda Rub so that the chicken incinerates and makes the drum easier to clean.

Just great, made in the USA and it aint worth a dime  :(    unless:  the rod runs through the inside which would hold the chicken and the metal tube would reflect in heat and the pattern would avoid flare ups??

I would fill the inside with lit charcoal and strap the chicken legs to the outside using wire ties :P

Isn't there a device like this that hooks up to a drill and "de-scales" whole fish?

You can put a large candle in it and it becomes a portable lantern too Gene :P
