Title: Frogmats - do you have one? Do you like them?
Post by: GrillGirl@cookinpellets on May 22, 2015, 10:18:50 AM
We have all experienced the frustration of grilling delicate foods on the Bar B Que. The food immediately sticks to the grates and tears or crumbles when you try to turn it. The food falls through the openings in the grate and you have one big mess. Frogmats solve this problem. Food will not stick to the Frogmats and it is easy to turn without crumbing. Do you have a frogmat? Do you like it?

I have one and use it for items that are small enough to fall through the expanded metal in my offset.  I have had good luck with it, but it is not any more non-stick than the metal in my opinion.

The frog mats are great, no issues even in an SRG cooking low

Question for those using them.  Do you oil the food a little before placing on the mats?
I have some I have not used yet.
I use brownie cooling wracks a lot. They work great.

I use them on almost everything.

Things stick a little, but a whole lot less than trying to pry a pork butt or brisket off the metal grates.

I usually pick the food up by lifting the frogmat, then take it inside and separate the meat from the matt.

They are invaluable for when cooking salmon and smoking softer cheeses.  I love 'em!

I got 2 about a year ago, and I dont think I could do without one now. I really like them for fish and stuff that normally likes to fall through the grate.
