Title: Thermapen Story
Post by: Pappymn on October 22, 2012, 06:46:23 PM
So my much beloved red Thermapen, the fastest color of all, started acting unusual. It would not read when fully extended. Thought it might need a new battery. Replaced the battery, but the issue remained.

So I emailed Thermoworks. They responded immediately, and opened a case. They asked me to send them my super fast Thermapen for them to investigate. The same day they received the pen, they emailed me that they will be replacing my Thermapen. They were never concerned or cared that the product is out of warranty by at least a year.

Only reason I share this story is that I know you all appreciate a great product and great service.  This great American company stands by their products! Though they are not made here (England), they support what they make.

Lucky thing you had the red one.  Service (like everything else) on the other models is slower.

They only repair the Red one after the warranty is up because it is known to be one of the slowest. Thermoworks feels bad about that so an extended warranty is their compromise. No extended warranty for the fastest Green one ;)

Some people never learn.  If the science didn't prove it (as shown in an earlier Thermapen thread), you should at least have noted that the first (and therefore the fastest) posts on this thread mentioning color were all about RED.  Duh!

True.  When you have a red Thermapen, you can stop looking for a faster one because they don't exist.
