Yes, I live on a golf course. No, I don't play golf anymore. Problems with my back persist and I am unable to play at this time. However, that does not preclude me from owning a golf cart. I have had a battery powered golf cart since right after we moved here. As my back got worse, we used to golf cart less for golf and more for neighborhood rides. When our grandson comes to visit he loves to go for a golf cart ride with me. Happy to oblige my little buddy.
Well, recently the cart has been having an issue holding a charge. We knew that the possibility existed that we were going to have to spend $800 on four new batteries. We also wanted to add a back seat so we could take family and friends on a ride with us. I was driving the cart in the neighborhood when one of the batteries developed a short. It literally blew the caps off the battery. It sounded like a gun going off, under the seat. I towed the cart back to the house and parked it in the garage. A neighbor just traded his battery powered cart in for a gas powered cart. He had already replaced four sets of batteries over the years. ( Remember the $800 per set to replace). I talked to him and we decided to go visit the same dealer to see what a gas powered golf cart was going to cost us. They had a 2015 E-Z-GO Bad Boy Buggy that was leftover in inventory. With a trade-in for my cart I was able to get this $8,000 cart, plus tax, for less than $5,500. It carries a 3-year warranty on the Kawasaki engine and a lifetime warranty on the frame. This is the cart below. I will be adding some UT Vols stickers at some point in time.

That thing is sweet! I play a lot of golf and have never seen something like that on the course.

Nice!

I think it's cool. You need some giants stickers on it. Maybe a 49ers decal?

Just needs a few "Alabama, Roll Tide" stickers.

Pretty spiffy Art!!! Don

In Lincolnton, golf carts are legal transportation on public roads inside the city limits. Most of the ones I see up and down my street are awfully tame. Yours is kind of badass. If you take off the muffler, does it sound like a Harley?

Hub,
I am not doing anything too void my warranty. One of these days, however...
One of the features that helped sell this cart was that the back seat folds down to give me a flat loading area. This will come in handy when I have to move all the boxes we store in the basement upstairs for each "season". To give you an idea, I would have to take 10 to 12 trips with the old cart to get the Christmas boxes to the front door. No way can I bring all those boxes up our stairs. I'd have to start moving boxes up by the first weekend in September in order for Mrs. ACW3 to decorate by late November. Besides, I can use the rear seat belts to secure a bigger cooler. The rear seat belts were put in for those times that my grandson wants to ride in the back.
There will be only UT Vols decals on this golf cart. The Bad Boy Buggy decals are already off the cart.

I want one of those. Don't live on a golf course but I want it for fishing. Rod holders, cooler for beer and the salmon if I get one. Right now I have to pull a wagon :). One day One day I will fish in style.

Art... Tommy has some mods planned for your cart :P

Very Nice!! I have one similar at my trailer park..

Is it street legal? My SIL has an ATV that he's trying to get certified.

No, it is not street legal. Our fearless government wants too many things added to make it legal, just like a car. Emissions, must be able to ride at speeds above 35 mph, etc. Legal for my neighborhood and that is all.

I see a lot of them at Ocean Isle Beach (also in NC) but I think that most of them are electric (ironic, isn't it).

This is more what I had in mind. Add a big, loud stereo too. Play country music for all the world to hear. Get back at those kids that play rap crap and thump thump up and down the street all the time. Big bumper on the front to push pedestrians out of the way. Even bigger bumper on the back so no damage would occur when you slam on the brakes to wake up a tailgater. Let's get rollin' here ;D
