My wife and I are getting ready for our next road trip. We are headed to Reno, NV in August for my submarine veterans convention. With the extremely hot weather in the forecast, I decided we needed a better cooler and some good vacuum mugs. After a lot of research, I decided that I wasn’t going to pay for the high end coolers or mugs. I found two coolers that were similar to the Yeti, and at about half the price. RTIC was one of those brands, but was not going to be available in time for me to start our trip. The other brand that I happened across was called Palm coolers. This is the one I bought. The mugs are the Ozark Trail 20 ounces mugs from Walmart. I also bought two Arctic Ice freezer blocks for the new cooler. I will probably be adding some dry ice long the way to keep the Arctic Ice blocks frozen.

I’ll report back after the trip with my observations. I do like what I see so far.

I have Yeti mugs in both 20 and 30 oz sizes and bought four each size of the Ozark Trail ones at Walmart. Absolutely cannot tell the difference in performance between the two. If you can't see the logo on it you would not be able to discern one from the other. Hope your cooler works as good as my Yeti 65, it most certainly works as advertised. I don't know that I could have brought myself to pay that much for a cooler but it was a father's day gift last summer. Sure like it!

Count on it!! I don't have to keep it cold, so it will be easy to pack.

Not sure if everyone saw the FB video that was around recently. Someone did a scientific study of the 3 mugs (Yeti, Ozark and RTIC) similar to one that was posted earlier in this forum. It mirrored the results almost to the end.
The basic concept was that they filled all of them at the same temp, with the same amount of ice and let it sit. The Ozark came out on top with ice still in the cup at 56 hours. Yeti was second and I cannot remember when the RTIC ran out of ice (40-50 hour range, I believe)
My only concern - I have never needed to keep a drink cold for 2 days - it is usually refilled multiple times by then..... to each their own though.
As for the cooler - looks great. Where did you find it?

That is like those Yeti Colsters, basically a metal koozie for a can. They say it keeps a beer cold for over 4 hours. I have never had a beer I needed to keep cold for 4 hours. The only reason I use the cheap foam koozies it to keep my hand from getting cold. I have never had a beer that started out cold get hot on me.

Look up Palm coolers on line. The 30 quart model I bought was about $150. The 35 quart Yeti was a lot more than that.

Tested the ozark 30oz last camping trip. Filed with ice and left on table outside. Was under trees and 70s out but still full of iceb when I went to sleep. Also filed another with water and ice and it had ice by end of day. Seem to work pretty good

Years ago when I was on the road alot, I bought a portable refrigerator that plugged into cig/lighter.
It worked great and needed no ice. Kept food and beverages cold.

I was finally able to find two of the Ozark Trail 20 and 30 and they should be here Monday.

I have never had a beer that started out cold get hot on me.

I have an RTIC . Keep in mind if you put the dry ice on top it may freeze your food below... You can add some rock salt as well for long cooling.
The biggest problem with it here coolers is that they are heavy...

The RTIC products would not be available in the time frame I needed it. The coolers are heavy, but that has to do with the thickness of the cooler. If it does what they say, I will be happy.
I bought the Palm cooler instead of a Yeti, even though I could have gotten a Yeti at a discount. I really liked the price of the Palm.
