Title: Anyone else having trouble with Photobucket?
Post by: Smokin Don on October 26, 2016, 11:27:57 AM
Since last night I have not been able to get to PB. At times it is slow and shows my photos but never make it to my libraries. Don

Having the same issues.  I have several cooks that I can't get the photos uploaded to be able to post.  And I know how much grief I would get for not posting pictures on this forum.

I just joined dropshots.com. Works the same as photobucket. Just upload a photo then click the photo thumbnail to make it bigger. Then click this symbol <> that will be beside the photo. Click on IMG code in the popup menu and then paste it on here.
All the young kids are using photobucket for the jpg's and gif's they use on Twitter etc. That is slowing photobucket down badly.

Couldn't even get to the site this morning.  As of 10 hours ago, their Twitter feed claims that they have resolved most of the issues.  I guess not...

I couldn't get in all morning and just now got in but still mighty slow. If this keeps up I am going to do like Pete and go to Dropshots. Don

I haven't been able to get on for a couple days.  Their advertizing is has gotten so intense that I would bet its part of the issue. AT&T /Yahoo had similar issues a while back with that very thing.

The main issue I have now is that I want my photos off their site. Private or not. And I have to be able to log in to get that done...

I just got on Photobucket OK a minute ago. Some parts of the internet has been extremely slow in recent days ...

Might be part of the Denial Of Service attacks that have been going on the internet for the better part of the week after the internet for the Wikileaks guy was shut off in the Embassy of Ecuador, London, England. It made hackers mad that someone (wonder who?) got the embassy to cut off his internet in the middle of releasing a bunch of emails ...

It almost takes longer to download the pics than it does to smoke the food  >:(

Might look into that dropshot...............

Pete - yo may want to explore Smugmug. They have free - all the way up to "Professional" storage solutions. And - the best tech support via e-mail I have ever experienced.

If I can assist - let me know.

Thanks for the info T

Just tried to login to Photobucket and was unable to connect. I was having no issues. Setup a 14 day trial account on Smugmug so I could post a photo on a post this morning. It was easy to use but I'm not too keen on paying $3 or more a month. Been using Photobucket for years without too many problems and I think I pay about $5 a year for extra storage space. Going to wait and see if/when Photobucket comes back online.
