Title: AMAZEN with Weber
Post by: zueth on May 04, 2018, 12:23:49 PM
I would like to use the AMAZEN tube with my Weber, but having problems with pellets lighting on fire, I assume from the hear of the weber.

Do I need to put down a metal deflector plate or something similar?

Not sure why you want to use it with the Weber, but the Amazen has only been tested to 275. You could use it on the Weber for cold smoking, but if you are burning charcoal of any type and want a wood flavor I personally would use chunks or chips.

I was trying to add some smoke flavor to my fish when grilling it.   I should of stated it’s a gasser.

I know guys use them with pellet grill. Is it not a good idea to use with Webber gases because of higher temp?

It would probably work if you put the tube on the cool side of the grill, which depends on how many burners you have. Many people have smoke boxes that they use with their gas grills and they seem to work good. The problem with the smoke tube is that it needs oxygen to keep going so you may have to prop the lid open a bit to get air to it.

I have a Webber genesis with three burners. I turned off the back burner and had the front and middle set to medium. The amazen produce smoke the whole time and never caught fire. But The fish only had a very slight smoke flavor, expected it to get more
