I've been itching to cook a brisket, and my wife has been bugging me to cook what she calls "Wedding" brisket or "QuinceaƱera" brisket. She is from southern New Mexico (the Las Cruces/El Paso TX area), and they do briskets like this all the time. If you go to a party in that region, chances are you will eat this exact same plate of food, down to the queso, frijoles and potato salad sides...
Credit for this cook goes to a youtuber named Smokin' Joe's Pit BBQ. You can search his channel for "Simple Brisket Recipe - Mexican Style Brisket - My Moms Brisket." This isn't a BBQ brisket per-se (it's cooked in the oven), but it's pretty darned good! An added bonus, you don't need to spend a lot on a prime brisket for this one. This was an 11 lb. select brisket at around $20.
Here are a couple of photos.

My best meals I ever ate were at Mexican Wedding Receptions. Birria was usually the main course. I betcha that brisket is just as good.
