Title: What Are Your 2012 New Year's Resolutions?
Post by: ACW3 on January 01, 2012, 12:27:42 PM
Besides the obvious lose weight, do more exercise resolutions, what have you "planned" to try to do in 2012?

One that I will try to do is enter all the good recipes that I like into my computer cookbook.  This will be a major undertaking, I know.  I have several large stacks of hardcopy recipes, not to mention my loose leaf notebooks full of recipes.  Time to weed out the files.

I want to stay on a steady excercise routine.
With the electric smoker I wanna do a brisket and pork butts once a month. I avoided doing em often because setting your alarm clock for 1 a.m. on a Sunday morning hurts......

smoke -  pick up a 15amp clock timer for the electric smoker
load it up when you go to bed, then it starts on it's own (http://i50.tinypic.com/20ztyfl.gif)
I used one for many years on my old crockpot, that didn't have the timer built in like my new one

Burn more pellets.

We're trying to work some more fish into our diet, so I guess it would be 'burn more pellets while cooking fish'..

Cook more in my smokers and grills.

Enjoy each and every day with my friends and family.

Try to be the person my dogs think I am.

My parents are getting up there in age and my Daddy's health is not really that good so I am going to spend more time with them this year. They live pretty close so they will be seeing me more this year I resolve.

To not let all the little crap aggravate me, to appreciate all the good stuff more, to make my kids think I am not as dumb as they thought I was when they were teenagers, to have my precious grandaugher run to me with her arms out yelling "Poppa" like she did at Christmas, to have my wife say "you did good Old Man", to appreciate my friends and family, those who are close and those who are far. And most of all to live through it so I can do it all again next year.
