Have a new WSM, waiting to be used, any hints on seasoning(if necessary). Try to find some good videos on Youtube, something to tell me where to set the vents, or on anything about set-up. Thanks for any help!

They don't need to be seasoned but they will burn hotter at first until the inside gets rid of its sheen.

Right on Brother you will have great success with that R2D2 smoker.
If yall did not know Steve is my Brother and on my Pit Pirate BBQ Team. He's a MASTER Griller and I expect the same results soon from his smoker.
Check with Bradford and Maxim too Steve they both have had them for a couple years.

Just kidding, good to have you here Steve and I have known your brother for sometime now great guy. The smoker you have is a very good one and like most grills/smokers you need to practice practice practice!!!!
OBTW.... DON"T USE A WEED TOURCH TO LIGHT THE SMOKER ;) just saying, right Mike.. :o

Good call Tommy. I would light maybe 15 briquettes in a chimney starter and toss em on the unlit ones. Minion Method all the way with a WSM.....

Well the WSM is doing its thing, trying to get the temp to get steady with vent adjustments. Not far off, just want to get it dialed in a little closer. Have been chating with team mates and a quick call to Bradford makes me feel better, like I'm on the right track. Let you all know where this goes, oh and yea Myk is my brother.

Prayers for Brother Steve's Wife Terri that somehow broke her Ankle. Steve is with her at the ER and the smoker is all on it's own on a 28 degree day. Might want to pray for the Pork Butts too.
I'll update yall if I hear something before Steve gets back and can post.
Poor Terri. The picture looked very painful.

Steve got her back home and everyone is self medicating I'm sure by about now. When he got there the WSM was chugging right along so he stoked it and he is stoked more then ever over his new cooker.
He'll post some pics soon... or I will. lol

Was so surprised to get home after so long to find the smoker just doing its thing at 240*, wow! The butts were just fine for the first time out, did get alot of learning done so next time it should do even better. The video was just in case I goofed up and would be able to find the problems, there were a few. Leasons learned. Teri will survive so thanks for the kind thoughts.
