Title: Needed this Knife Sharpener
Post by: mikecorn.1 on March 08, 2013, 04:50:56 PM
Rexter posted information on this Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener. I've been in need of one. I happened to be driving to my next job here in Houston, Tx and I happened to see this store right at my intersection

I went inside and found a demo they had with an overused beat up medium grit belt. The belt was almost ripped in half. I took my work sheath knife to it and came out  nice and sharp with about 10 strokes on each side.
I went ahead and got one with a box of extra belts. 2 of each belt in the box. I was loaned to this area today to help out and will probably never come by this way again.

$69.95 + $13.99+ tax
Total damage $90.87

My coworker told me this thing is the shiznit. I showed him what I got and he said he has one also.  Effortless and knifes come out razor sharp in no time.

Gonna give it a whirl tomorrow. Can't figure out how to play the DVD in my laptop. Maybe I'll go to YouTube

Mike, I watched a couple of youtube videos before mine came in. The dvd that came with the sharpener is still unopened. It's almost foolproof,  but watch out on smaller knives, the point will disappear before you know it

I did the same earlier. Couldn't get the DVD to play. Newer laptop and have never used the player. I would have thought that it would automatically play but it didn't.
I'll watch out for the small blades. Thanks.

Looks like a good sharpener. I have had good results with my Presto Eversharp. Looks like a nice unit Mike ;)

Don't see how I can post pics of a dull knife vs a sharp one ??? ;D. I guess i can take two pics of the same knife or just one and posted two times and label them dull and sharpened ;D. Let me tell ya, I did two knives earlier today that I wouldn't have minded screwing up and they came out razor sharp in less than a minute. I used only the medium and fine grit bands. All I did was watch a couple of videos on YouTube.
I did a cheap butcher and boning knife that came in a cheap set we were given a while back and they wouldn't cut Sh/t. After I got done, I showed my wife how I could shave the hairs off the top of my hands. Not too much cause I don't want to look like a dork with one hand shaved and not the other ;D

Thanks Mike. I am so sick of dull knives. I may pull the trigger on this one.

Ha! There's not a dull knife in my house!! I've been asking family members to sharpen their knives. It really is a good tool to have.
