That's pretty interesting. I'm guessing the skin isn't too crispy, but it sure looks moist! I am going on a camping / fishing trip with my brother in August - we won't have room to bring a grill, this might be worth a try on the beach.

I think Tommy might be on to something...
A hot bed of coals surrounding the can. A chicken in the can with no foil. Then fill in the surrounding area in the can with rock salt ;)

In survival training we learned to take a chicken, put it on a stob, put the can on top of it and make sure the can touches the ground, pile high with pine straw, set the straw afire and it will be done when the straw has burned. Dee

That works if you are surviving where there are pine trees.
