Title: Home one day early.
Post by: veryolddog on September 28, 2013, 05:46:41 PM
Did 250 paces his morning with our therapist on my trusty walker. Saw the operating team who changed my bandage and they reviewed a recent x-ray. All is well. Left side is weak and feels like it has a lot of weight. Progress is good! They release me this afternoon and sent me home with a ton of pain killers. Got to walk everyday and do my exercises.

When they opened up the hip, they found a piece of cartilage floating around in their the size of a quarter that they had to remove. It apparently had torn off from where it was located and just causing more trouble. Now, I am completely rebuilt. But this is going to take six months. I have to keep these aids on the calves of my feet in order to stop potential blood clots.

Got to take things slow and easy.

Ed

Great news Ed!  It's ALWAYS good to be home. Don't over do it, this is one instance where pain is good.....it tells you when to stop!
I hope your recuperation period goes smoothly.  Make sure you get your daily whiff of hickory smoke!  lol   :D

Good to hear you are home, Ed! It sound like the prognosis is good - yeah it'll take time, but you know it's worth it. Cheers!

Very old?  I guess not!  You're healing like a teenager.

I'm certain that when I have mine done they'll keep me three extra days.  They did on the rotator cuff and spine jobs.  And you go home early.  Impressive.

Great news Ed.  Just grind some of them pain killers up and mix them in with some rub.  Sprinkle 8) it on at the end of a cook and call it "finishing rub."
