Hi guys and gals,
I just joined yesterday. I am coming over from another forum as I was invited by a member there to come over here and join in on this forum. I have yet to post here but I will make a post in the "Big Easy" section today or tomorrow.
I just got myself a new Charbroil "Big Easy" last week and cooked a 5.5 pound "test chicken" the other day in order to practice before the big turkey cook this Thursday. For the last ten years or so I have peanut oil fried my turkeys but the cost of the oil drove me to the Big Easy purchase.
Anyway, I am just a regular guy living here in San Diego. I do grill often (60 or more time a year) and BBQ a little too. So hopefully I can pick up some good information from you good people here. I have no experience with the Big Easy, say the one chicken I did cook last week. That came out perfect, beginners luck 8).
Please be kind when speaking of the San Diego Chargers. I know, I know, but they are all we have...

I was stationed in San Diego in the 1970s when I was in the Navy. I loved the weather and the area. Course it's grown a little since then! :D My youngest Son was born at Balboa Naval Hospital.

Lordy, I was here in 1970's in the US Navy too, The USS Ticonderoga CVA 14. Those were the days. I just stayed - the Navy said that would be best... ???.

That must be one old avatar picture Nick considering you were in Dego in the 1970s ... (http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab105/papa_peter/Emoticons/LOL_zps69350c39.gif)
Riding a tin can had a lot of benefits over being on a target bird farm!

Actually that picture of me was taken just about 7 years ago in Mexico, I look pretty much the same as that today. People say I do look much younger then my age. I was still being asked for my ID to purchase beer at 35. Believe it or not I have a Vietnam Service Medal too..

Yes, That is what I was told by the old timers too. That is why I always wanted to see for myself...
