Title: Once in a lifetime storm
Post by: Scallywag on December 22, 2013, 08:29:21 PM: So we got hit last night with warm air and precipitation from the south and it met with a cold front from the north. I have never seen anything like this ever.. We woke up to one when the trees and limbs coming down sounded like dynamite going off. We didn't have power for 3 days. Nice cook!!! Love those little potatoes! Don

Power was out for about 36 hours. The good thing about that happening in Texas is you know that if you wait a couple of days it will warm up. Not so much up your way. That is going to stink for a while I suspect.

Post by: pz on December 27, 2013, 01:17:16 AM: We had a nasty ice storm like that in the mod '90s. I came out to the parking lot after work and literally had to chip the ice along the edges of the door to get into my truck - the entire vehicle was encased in about 1/4 inch of ice

I bet that MAK-smoked roast smelled incredible when you brought it in from the cold outside. It sure would've made me feel warmer!
