I made a trip to Sam’s Club and bought meat for New Year’s Eve dinner and New Year’s Day good luck meal. I bought pork back ribs for using in my homemade kraut and 4 nice beef tenderloin steaks, 1 ½ inch thick for New Year’s Eve. I also got two nice all natural pork tenderloins for later.
Nice weather here in Ohio, in the 40’s today and tomorrow but Sunday evening we get back to winter and in the 20’s awhile. I wanted to smoke the ribs so I will take advantage of the warmer weather tomorrow to do them. On New Year’s Day they will go in a Crockpot with onions, the kraut, beer, seasoning and some Bavarian style spaetzel. I might add in some smoked brats too.
I will do the beef tenderloin steaks for New Year’s Eve dinner with baked potatoes and some sautéed shrimp for surf and turf a side salad and some good bread.
I hope all of you have some great food for celebrating the New Year!

Ok Don..tell me more about the kraut with the speatzle in it. Sounds great. I just put the pork and sauerkraut in with some caraway seeds. I do not drain the kraut either. I like it sour. Pam ☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི

Pam go here http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=2668.0 and this is how I like it with my wife's knopfles, drop noodles cooked and added about the last hour. This year I will use some boughten Bavarian style spaetzel. I get it at Meijers, Bechtel brand in the German section. Knopfles, German drop noodles, and spaetzel are all very similar just different sizes and shapes. With her new knees I didn't want her to have to stand and make them. I think the noodles really make the dish. Don

Can't wait so see that meat cooked up! A very generous person sent me a gift card to Sam's for Christmas and the plan is to use it to buy some meat or a good bottle of Champagne for the wife and I to enjoy to toast the start of a better New Year.
