Title: Flame Genie
Post by: txpops on January 19, 2014, 10:11:07 AM
I saw this on another forum and I like it. They did a product review and it works as advertised. If I didn't already have a large fire pit in the side yard and a small outdoor fireplace on my deck in the back yard I would get one of these. Maybe I could get one to take along on camp outs.  Very cool

Northern Tool is sold out but it is still available here.

Utube vid shows up on my PC. Very cool but what would be the pellet consumption per/hr if anyone has one?

Man, that is a great idea.  Now, where would I use it around here?  Let me work on the "need" part, and where I would store it.

Looks to me like it is mostly just for looks, and about all you could cook on it would be hot dogs and marshmallows! Just MHO Don

I don't think it was designed for cooking. It's just for heating, and it looks cool but I'm sure somebody around here could figure out a way to cook on it.

Here is the video review. They start off using 6 lbs of pellets so you would need to find some inexpensive home heating pellets. They say they were able to purchase 100% Hardwood Heating Pellets for $4.89/40lbs. So it's not too expensive to use this if you can find cheap pellets.

It is a pretty cool firepit that runs on heating pellets.

Would be great for camping or even the back patio. It burns clean with very little smoke unlike a wood fire pit.

The guys at the Pelletheads tent had one of these at the American Royal.  It was pretty cool.  Plan on getting one in the spring.  I think they're made in western Iowa somewhere

Pretty neat, but I'd darned sure buy some heating pellets for it instead of burning good cooking pellets.
