Awhile back I bought a new alder wood pizza peel, that was handmade in Vermont by J.K. Adams. It's 23 3/4" X 14" X 3/4" a perfect size for the pies I make. I haven't used it as of yet because it needed to be treated with mineral oil. Today I remembered to pick some up at the hardware store, so I finally got this task out of the way. The first two pics are the untreated peel and last two are treated. It really is a beautifully handcrafted tool. I can't wait to use it.

Beautiful! Oil regularly so it won't crack

My wife has a wooden one like that for use in the indoor oven. I made the mistake of using it in the wood fired oven outside and burnt the bottom edge of the lip ???
She loves using that wooden peel, and I was in trouble.
Needless to say, I always use the long handled metal one in the outdoor oven now.
