We have to watch Sparky to see if he becomes infected ::)
Somehow the BGE forum has found out how to infect members ......not with a computer virus but with a reality distorting mind virus ???
The only sane BGE owners are those who are computer illiterate & stay off forums!
The signs are subtle , comments like.
" that's a really nice cooker BUT , it's not a BGE!"
"The only way to cook this right is on a BGE"
"My BGE is so efficient on fuel it actually makes charcoal"
" why would you buy a pellet cooker when for the money you could've gotten a BGE"
Watch for these subtle signs, & if needed we will get Sparky treated ::)

When I was selling grills at Academy Sports I noticed that the BGE owners had those tendencies. I only talked to one BGE owner who told me that when you pay over $1000 for a charcoal grill of course you are going to say it is the best thing ever.

Now, LA, I've never known Sparky to be that kind of guy.
Of course, now that you mention it, he's never had a BGE before!!!
Nah...he'll be okay
just sayin'...

My neighbor just bought a BGE. When he was telling me about it (he doesn't know I am no slouch as an outdoor cooker) he did have a certain "attitude" that he usually doesn't have.
Made a point to tell me how much they cost.....I let him have his kool aid moment. ;D

When I seen green koolaid I thought of this party i went to in 1972. They had a green punch bowl. I only had 2 glasses of green koolaid. You ever read the book "koolaid acid test". It was like that. Great party.
Thanks LA for thinking of me. If I get weird with the BGE just send me back to the punch bowl. But i hear that the BGE does produce the best food after my weber.

The big green egg does have a very devoted following..........

I think the strength of the BGE is it's loyal following. Like Weber, or even Char-Broil when you have a LOT of users that are willing to share their experiences, tips, tricks, modifications, and recipes - you will get a very "regard" for the product being used. Then - you have a strong fan base, so can be self -reinforcing...as long as the product is perceived as better than any potential flaws or weaknesses.
Ceramic cookers have been around a long time - and folks still like using them - so there is something to say about that! ;D

Congratulations on the cooker!
It's going to be a lot of fun.
I wouldn't pick on you if I wasn't Jealous ::)
Thanks for being a good sport!

I have LBE in a carton.
Little
Brown
Eggs ???

I actually am starting to see a bit of a BGE revolt (even among the "keeping up with the Joneses" folks) as the other ceramic cookers make themselves better known in the market. They really seem to need to adjust the accessory and add-on pricing IMO.

Competition is good for ALL of us!

I agree with Tim about the loyal following. I have been a Weber person for years and I like my Webers. But I guess I "outgrew" the obsession that there aren't any better cookers than the Weber. You can see by my signature what I am cooking on. Yes I still have 4 Webers and love them, but I will cook on other grills that are IMHO just as good or better. I rarely go to the Weber forum anymore as I found that my home is HERE and any type of cooker is welcome. Though, I must add, that the more I see of the other cookers, especially the Kamado's I am itching to try out one of them. I want the Primo, my wallet says NO.. ;) So I may just have to follow Jaxon and buy an Akorn. 8) But in reality it is not the cooker, it's the cook!
