Grandson's first Paint Lesson
« Reply #-1 on: July 30, 2014, 12:26:46 AM »
Jul 29 2014

Our grandson came down today about 1:00 for his first paint lesson.  He has painted a lot or art projects in his 9 years but nothing as big as a park bench. He put a second coat of stain on it for me. I got him started by doing one slat and showing him how I do it.

He got the back done and took a break. I checked it out and looked good, no drips or brush marks, as good as I could have done! He got the seat done and I looked it over, there was just one small spot that needed more stain. He did a fine job and I was pretty proud of him. I am particular about my painting and was more than happy with his work!

I was in the middle of fixing some smoked pork neck bone gravy for supper. He stayed around till 3:00 and said he was going home. I thanked him for his paint job. He didn’t ask to stay for supper; I guess neck bone gravy didn’t sound very good to him!

If he doesn't already, one day he will really be thankful he has a granddaddy like you.  What else do you teach him?  Any outdoor cooking lessons?  Dee

Probably figured out the his grandfather "Tom Sawyer'd" him.  Either way, he learned something.
