A boiled turkey?
« Reply #-1 on: November 28, 2014, 02:54:43 PM »
I know the guys who attended this years gathering was discussing doing a turkey like a crawfish or shrimp boil. Art (ACW3) did some for his Thanksgiving and said it was good. I searched on it and found this short video that has me wanting to try it. Thought maybe some of you would be interested in it. Not too late to try this for Christmas Smokin Don

It looks pretty dang good to me. I bet the texture would be similar to any other type of stewed chicken.

Tommy,
You wouldn't regret doing one that way.  Do a "mini boil" like I did.  I just used a turkey boulder.  I wanted to see if it was worth it to spend the money to do a full-blown version.  It is definitely worth it!!

Ken, I think the wings would be really good!  Careful not to over cook them.
I think if you just bring them to the boil and turn it off , let them soak roughly 15 minutes. Then put them on the grill a few minutes. Finish off with a sweet sauce for sweet and spicy...
I do this with potatoes all the time(not the sweet part). They turn out really well.

I think that would be good Terry, especially putting them on the grill to crisp them up.
