So they want to stop backyard grilling.  >:(

You know in order for them to do the study thousands of $$$$'s  have to be spent to see if the study should be done, then all the flying back and forth plus paperwork and peoples time not to mention all the $$$$ laid out for lunches and dinners bought because they can't spend their own $$$$ since it's a gov-study.

Then after all this they have to have a press conference to tell us about it and more $$$$ spent traveling to say we are looking into carbon emissions from BBQ's   ??? ??? ??? ???

Then the study comes out and again more $$$$$ waisted  on telling us it's not as bad as they thought but we need to do something before it gets worse or they will have to impose more rules  >:( >:( >:(

Really, all the B.S that's put out by them had more freaking carbon points then the BBQ's they are trying to control

OK sitting down now

If they can't get the grills they will go after the charcoal.  ::)

The sad thing is, IF this comes to pass "they" don't have to go after our grills. As RAD pointed out, they can go after the charcoal. Easier to go for the fuel manufacturers and let us run out of charcoal, chips, chunks, and propane.

This is another political issue that is not unlike trying to take our guns away.  They may pass any type of new rules and regulations. and the BBQ'er of America will simply not comply.  They can take away charcoal, etc., but they never can keep us from getting wood from our access.

Foolish strategy.  We can always make charcoal from hardwood wood......   If they try to tax it out of existence, you will see bootleg charcoal furnaces pop up and a black market.  Oh wait, where have we heard this before? Regulate something out of existence, and an underground economy pops up.

Interesting discussion.....Let us keep it in "the middle of the road" so that it does not  fall into the ditch of political quagmire.... ;)

Charcoal manufacturing has been subject to a constant ratcheting-up of restrictions and regulations. Frankly, I am surprised that we have as many choices as we still have in the industry. And - the regulatory environment remains confused. On the one hand, you get points for a wood burning fire place in home construction under US Green Building Council's LEED program ( because wood is a renewable resource...) yet, the EPA does not like charcoal....which illustrates how people from diverse backgrounds look at the same - or directly related issues, and develop a completely different perspective. Sometimes, that is just frightening - knowing that we have folks in powerful places that probably do not understand how to strike a match nor do they grasp the relationship between wood and charcoal.... ;) :-X

Looks like, if they have their way, we could all end up on stick burners.
