Spoiler Alert - this is a unicorn cook!
Hawaiian Chicken - Yup, it has pineapple so it MUST be Hawaiian.
Ok - it actually is good and has nothing to do to do with Hawaii as even the pineapple didn't come from there...
Busy day - needed to put something together that would be ready when everyone finally got home.
Started with some BS chicken breasts, chopped Canadian bacon, a can of crushed pineapple, sliced green pepper, quartered onion, minced garlic clove, cherry tomatoes, and Lawry's Hawaiian Style BBQ sauce. How much easier can it get? Tossed them all in the crock pot on low for 6 hours.
Made some rice as the cook was getting close. The liquid was pretty liquid, so I made a cold water/flour slurry and pulled the chicken and thickened the sauce before adding the chicken back into the pot.
A very simple dinner - but the girls loved it - had a sort of sweet / sour (more sweet) taste. Would have paid much more for take out - this was easy and inexpensive - works in this house with multiple diners moving in and out. just add some more rice...
