He's been  the face of blues guitarists for decades.
If you love music you know one of the Icons of music has died :-[
This is like when Elvis, John Lennon or Louis Armstrong died.
They defined a music genre.
He will be missed by music fans everywhere !

I had heard he was in hospice. He did some work on a Charles Shultz cd tribute of Vince Gauraldis timeless Peanuts tunes and just tore up Joe Cools Blues.....

I sure hope they bury "Lucille" with him..............................

Very true! He was one of those guys that kept going on and on. I think until last year he was still doing 180+ gigs a year.
I believe Rolling Stone magazine had him rated as the sixth best guitar player ever.  Lucille is going to be awfully lonely from here on!

NOBODY should be allowed to ever play Lucille. She was an extension of B B and was only to be played by him.............

He was a national treasure. When Lucille was in his hands she became a living breathing thing. Listen to this song he wrote that paid tribute to Lucille.

I agree...but "Lucille" was the name gave every guitar he owned. The last I knew of...he was on Lucille No# 15. That is a big casket ;)

That may be true. But maybe his guitars were like wives. And guitars don't sue for alimony!

He loved his Gibson guitars, but I bet he could have made my $15 dollar Sears and Roebuck guitar sing the blues too.

Kinda like some of the folks here who can make great food on a hot rock.... there are magicians in every part of art, it is so good to have enjoyed their presence.
