Santa brought me a new toy for Christmas!!!

This year my bride outdid herself.  She got me a food slicer for Christmas    I had been looking at them for some time now but could not make a decision - other than I did not want an entry level slicer as I have had experience with them before and they just did not work that great.  She gave me a Chef's Choice Professional 665 slicer.  I broke it in slicing up the leftover prime rib from Christmas Dinner.  I put the hunk of leftover in the fridge after Christmas dinner and sliced it up the next day.  The slicer performed perfectly.  I was impressed with the ease of use, how well the thickness selector worked and how easily the slicer cut through the cold prime rib roast.  I sliced up the entire chunk (probably around 5 pounds) and we used the meat for two days of french dip sandwiches and cold sandwiches as well.  I also took around 8 oz of the sliced meat to work for lunch on Monday and nuked it for a bit to heat it up.  It was fantastic.  I give the slicer a thumbs up.  Easy to take apart to clean and put back together as well.  It has an 8.5" blade which was plenty big to handle the prime rib roast.  The next test will be slicing top round for jerky or smoked turkey breast.

^This except I don't use a dishwasher.  Hand cleanup is very easy.

Me too and I love it!!! I got the smooth blade for it and I think it does better for thin slicing than the serrated one! Don
