Smoke I was born in '75

ok, well this got me thinking.  in '75 i was in my 2nd out of 4 1/4 years in the coast guard.  i was in the bering sea driving small boats carrying boarding parties to russia and japenese fishing vessels.  if they had violations we would escort them back to kodiak.  3 day liberty everytime.  ya..... while the boarding party was inspecting the other ship we would just cruise around the ocean until they were done.  it was the cruising part that was fun.  we use to position ourself on the other side so our ship couldn't see us.  party.  we had 1/2 to 45 minutes to do nothing but cruise around.  alittle drinking, drinking, smokey, smokey.  don't judge, it was the bering sea in alaska in the early 70's.  it was very cold.  long live the boatswain mate.  just a old coastie here.  ok, what were ya'll doing in '75?

I was in Norfolk, VA ... Sonar Technician on a Tin Can  :) ... Remember buying a six-pack of Coors for $12 cause it was "imported".  Back then Coors couldn't sell East of the Mississippi River.  Needless to say, I only bought 1 six-pack  :D ;)

I was working on a TV show called "The Midnight Special" which was hosted by Wolfman Jack and aired on Friday nights after "The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson". We recorded live concerts from everyone like Dolly Parton to Earth, Wind, and Fire, all the way to Aerosmith. All genres of music. It was my 3rd year of working for a living. This year is my 40th year at the same company. I'm getting so tired.

I was married, with one son, working full time, and working on my 2nd business degree. No time for hobbies. ::)

And yes, I'm still married to that same beautiful French Girl !!   ;)

NOW, I'm retired with lots of time for these hobbies.  :)   :)    :)    :)

I can't say too much about what I was doing in '75. Can't remember a lot of it and the statute of limitations hasn't run out on some of it on the rest.

My neighbor has been getting the Midnight Special DVD collection from TV shipped to her. She loans em to me when she is done watching them!! I must be getting older and never realized it before but the Midnight Special is so diverse and pairs up artists and genres that you would never have thought possible!! Truly a ground breaking series!!

I remember at the Stones Coliseum show in 81, Prince opened the show and got booed and bottled thrown right off the stage!! Bill Graham came out and chewed us out and threatened not to bring the Stones out!! I always thought that wasn't cool what we did.....heck....music is music..........music doesn't know what color you are......it just has the good beat!!

Jack - How did your pics get into a book set 2-3 years before you were drafted?

2P - I'm with you; if there are no photos, it didn't happen (and no one can prove it did).  That's the year I finished 7+ years of active duty and picked up pretty much where I left off when I went in in '68.
