Beans Is Cookin'! Bean Soup is Done!
« Reply #-1 on: December 05, 2016, 04:16:56 PM »
I am off work today....but I had a honey-do-list that made me wish I was at work anyway! ::)
So in between "my jobs" I put a hambone in some water and let those two perculate for awhile. Then added some beans and thyme, now I'm taking a break having a Hamms!  8) In a little bit the veggies go in. You know I love my pressure cooker, but there's nothing like the aroma of a kettle of homemade soup simmering on the stove all day!  TO BE CONTINUED....

Soups done! Very simple and very tasty! The veggies were a diced onion, 2 carrots diced, and 2 celery ribs diced. S&P to taste. Mrs H made a nice salad and buttered some sliced Italian bread. With a hlass of merlot this was a fine Wintery meal!

I can smell it from here  ;D

Growing up in a ranching family we always had roasts and steaks and burgers and I was okay with that.  But a really special treat for me and my favorite comfort food meal was ham, beans, and cornbread.  Wish I had some right now!

Yeah, the best part of  Easter at my house is the big pot of ham/bean soup my mom makes the following week.

I'm ready and waiting with bowl in hand!

Bean soup with cornbread was one of my favorite meals growing up.
