Excellent restore and great price!
Thank you. I have a lot of hours in stripping the lid since it had three different coats of paint on it and it looked like that when it had the original paint on it, it had some kind of fire that burned the paint off.
SO did you sandblast, or chemically strip of the old paint?
On the lid, I used chemical stripper plus a scraper to remove the paint. There were three different coats and colors on the lid so it was a touch job. The chemical stripper wasn't as effective as I would have liked so I did a lot of old fashion scraping with a scraper. On the main body since it appeared to still have the original paint, I just scuffed it up really good and painted over it. I used high temp paint on both lid and body.
