Corned Beef and Cabbage newbie

First time cooking corned beef and cabbage. Bought a 2.5 pounder at Costco, popped it in the slow cooker on high with a couple of cups of water, added potatoes, carrots and cabbage near the end of the cook. It was a hit!

I can't wait to try smoking this cut for some pastrami. Hoping to find some on sale next week.
