Jack Cazadores Anejo is my favorite straight. Too expensive and good to mix. Also like El Jimador.

I think Patron is over rated.

But I have to stay away from tequila or I get in trouble ;)

... sometimes I really want an Islay or a really peat rich, smoky scotch...

... which is why there's almost always a bottle of Lagavulin on my shelf.

... $69.99 at BevMo. ... 118 proof!

I forget that booze is relatively cheap in Hawaii - I guess they figure if we're drunk we won't notice how screwed up our local government is.

The bottle on my shelf is 119.8 proof (different cask) and I've seen it higher than that.  Obviously a sipping whisky.  Try it straight and then with a cube or two and then with a small splash; it's different each way (all of them excellent).

... most any 100% agave Reposado...

Pretty much how I buy Tequila although I have to admit that the Costco/Kirkland Añejo isn't bad, especially at $24 per liter.  As muebe implies, however, Tequila is not always your friend.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion

The Turtle and I shared a good time over bowls of shrimp and grits while he was in Savannah.  A very interesting person to say the least.  I hope y'all get to meet him at this year's Gathering.  Dee
