Having picked up a 5 lb bag of red beans last week I was going to cook them the other day but my sausage supply was low. And there's a locally owned supermarket(Rouse's)that has pork butts on sale for .88 a lb. so I decided to take a drive to Gonzales to get the brand of sausage I wanted which isn't sold closer to home and I know that Rouse's sells it(French Settlement). So Thursday I took a nice leisurely drive to get my sausage. While there I go to grab a couple of packs of butts. Bit when I get to the butt section I see that that particular store has their own butt sale thing going on for .79 a lb. I grabbed two twin packs, one for making pickle pork for seasoning in beans and one that'll be smoked. If I had more freezer space I'd get more but I don't. That was a pleasant surprise that made making that drive which is about 45 mile better.
