Best Chicken Wings I Have Cooked, PERIOD!!!
« Reply #-1 on: February 13, 2013, 07:50:31 PM »
We had a break in the weather late this afternoon and the skies cleared, kinda.  Certainly enough for me to fire up the PBC to do some wings.  These were really “basic”.  Garlic salt, only!!  Not even any pepper!!  I only have one picture because we ate the rest before I got the camera out.

They were crispy and really tasty.  No sauce, just garlic salt.  Damn, they were good!!!

I've always sworn by my SRG for wings. I guess I better try the PBC. I already love that for whole (split) chickens and pulled pork... will have to try the wings! Those just look great.

Those look good and I love the simplicity!  Did you use the grate in the PBC or did you put the wings on a leg/wing rack?  Also, how long did they cook?

In answer to Hub's questions (I really should have included more iformation in the original post), I used the grate this time.  I left out the two ribar rods.  Actually, I forgot to put them in after I put the chicken wings on the grill.  The fire was good and hot, so I turned them over about every 15 minutes so I wouldn't burn them too badly.  Total cooking time was a little over an hour.  If I had gotten the wings from the Case Farms store here in town, the wings would have taken much longer to cook since they are typically three wings to a pound.  They are huge!!  Case Farms has a chicken processing plant here in town.  If you ever want "big" chicken parts, this is the place to get them.
