muebe, they always say a dog resembles his master or is it the other way around? Either way, I like the looks of that pooch.

This is a very sad day. A couple hours ago my daughter was playing with Guy and being a little rough. He then bit her in the face. I went to check on her and she had a small puncture wound on her face. When I stood up and turned toward the dog to get him outside he lunged at me and bit me on the face. He broke two of my teeth in the process and punctured the bottom of my jaw. He then chased me into the kitchen and bit my left hand pretty good. He punctured my thumb through the nail and four puncture wounds to my hand. I had to jump up on my kitchen counter to avoid being attacked any further. Then my wife got the dog to go outside since he only seemed to want to kill me.

I went to the E.R. And got treated. They did X-rays on my hand to make sure there were no broken bones and on my chest to make sure I did not swallow my own teeth or that they were in my lungs.

Next will be a trip to the dentist to fix my broken teeth.

My daughter is completely freaked out of course. I am scared of the dog. The people who we got the dog from are going to pick him back up. We decided not to fill out a dog bite report because they would euthanize him.

Had the dog for around a year and never showed any signs of this behavior!

Boy this really sucks :'(

That is very sad, I hope you and your daughter recover quickly. As much as I love dogs you have to protect your family first and foremost.

Mike, I am so glad that you and your daughter are safe and not hurt any worse than you both are.

Man...that is hard to take. "Man's best friend"...turning on your daughter and you. When I hear of things lie this - I wonder if it is in the breeding ( in-breeding ) or just a genetic anomaly that can happen in any species?

I feel for you guys. I fear what I would have done in those circumstances, would have regretted it forever - but...I would have done it anyway. I had to put down one of my dogs once. Darned near killed me to do it....

That's really rough Mike so sorry it happened  :(  Really feel for your daughter and you, hope and pray you both get back to normal very soon.  Knowing what Guy did may keep her from ever wanting another dog and that would be sad

After a year wonder what made him snap?

I found out that the people we got him from stated Guy had bit someone one time before. If I had known that I would have never taken him in!

I am probably more traumatized than my daughter thank god. She is sad that we have to give him back but I tried to explain to her the problem of him biting.

She feels bad because she was holding him around his neck and jumping up and down. I had told her to stop but she kept doing it then he bit her. Not soft like a warning bite but hard enough for a facial puncture wound.

There are some dogs that are just that way. Maybe the fights he had with the other dogs triggered something in him? I don't know.

Can't really eat anything due to damage to my lip, jaw, and teeth. And my left hand is killing me. I declined the prescription of pain meds and I am starting to regret that decision. I had a really hard time sleeping last night. I just happened to be scheduled off today so that kind of worked out however.

I am just so thankful he did not go after my daughter like he did me!
