Sanford & Son AKA Gone in 60 Seconds
« Reply #-1 on: September 29, 2013, 05:08:02 PM »
Driving home 15 min ago & 2 blocks from home what's on the curb?

Well not only was it gone in 60 seconds, it was in my backyard within 180 ::)
Easy to rehab, 1 wheel was off , but kindly inside the grill.
The cooking grate is well used & I'll need a new one.
3 quarter sized areas of porceloin missing.
I need a fastener for the wheel & it's good to go ;D

Nice score.
Here is a link I got from another forum to weber retore related forum(s)

"The Virtual Weber Bulletin Board .

http://tvwbb.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/9040039023

You should be able to find quite a few threads on restoration and repair of porcelain chips. General consensus is hit the rust with steel wool, mask the area off, and hit with hi-heat paint. Others just use steel wool and Pam.
"

Hope it helps.

Gus thanks.
I don't think I'll find high heat paint to match the faded green so I'll clean & season with Pam
