all well deserved:

the American Royal World Series of BBQ competiton started yesterday, Tuffy stone is this years invitational winner. Myron Mixon, Adam Perry Lang and the Inventor of the Weber Grill, Mr George Stephen Weber Sr are the newest members in the bbq hall of fame. It was a great night. We are proud to be a sponsor this year. We give away a set of grates till tomorrow noon, if you are in the Kansas City area, stop by.

Tuffy walked away with a total score of 720! That is not bad, when you consider that he only cooked in 3 contests this year; the Royal being one of them! I wish that I had made it to the Royal this year. But, next year, Good Lord and budget willing, I will be there cooking in the Open!

Tuffy is one of the most likeable, easy-going guys on the circuit.  I have had the honor of being in several contests with him and he treats everyone, both judges and other cooks, with respect and a casual ease that makes you wish he were your neighbor.  Not only can he cook -- he's also a mighty nice guy  ;D

I really enjoy Tuffy on the PitMasters Series. He is exactly like you say Hub. I love watching the cooks faces when Tuffy is critiquing them; he sends out all that love and positive vibe...then that one word that you just see their faces drop.......BUT!!!!!

Enjoyed my first experience judging the Royal.  Have photos to up load but am traveling for work the next couple of days.  Would like to give a big shout out to the open winner "Iowa's Smokey D's". Have judged them and competed against them and they are a first class operation.

A good friend of mine and a guy I cooked with down in Moore, OK took the Reserve GC- Travis Clark of Clark Crew BBQ. Travis is a great guy and one of the founders of the Wounded Warrior cook at Ft. Riley. This was his first Royal and to walk away with a 180 in Brisket is pretty amazing. At least I get to say that I knew him when he was just another cook.
