My trio of BBQ buddies
« Reply #-1 on: December 03, 2013, 04:27:25 PM »
First time using photobucket, so hopefully this works!!   These are my little buddies:

Roxy, our dear old golden retriever waiting EVER so patiently for something to magically drop out of the grill.

And Willis (miniature beagle) giving us his heartbreaking puppy eyes... which happens every. single. meal.  He just turned three.

And my sweet little Bayou (miniature beagle).  Who looks like a stoned gnome in this one, but she is a darling.

James (my other mascot) introducing Roxy and Willis to pellet smoking.

Ed-- what a happy face!  Love Dixie's expressions.  :)   And our crew waits (im) patiently for snicky-snacks throughout the meal prep too.  :)

Bayou has turned out to be quite the little ninja when it comes to sneaking bits off plates, too, after their snacks.  (Not to mention she figured out the push button lock on the garbage can lid in the kitchen...)   That, and she has an unfortunate taste for ANY kind of alcohol (I've seen her sneak drinks of cheap tequila at bbq parties!)  Have to watch her like a hawk with the booze.

When she was about 4 months old, she knocked over a full glass of wine right as I sat down to watch a movie.  By the time I'd gotten back to the couch with some towels all of 10 seconds later, she'd lapped up enough to get COMPLETELY sauced (she was like 5 lbs at the time).  Didn't realize until later why she was lying back in my arms, looking up at the ceiling wide-eyed with her head lolling back and forth as if she was finding the secrets of the universe in the stucco.  Reality hit when she (still lying on her back) just let loose sorority-girl style and peed all over herself (and myself... and the couch... and the floor...  and the coffee table), then tried to run outside, only to nosedive off the couch into her own puddle of wee.  (The next day it was hilarious, at the time I was freaked out the poor thing had alcohol poisoning!)

Last year's Christmas Eve was spent getting her to puke up the stocking stuffer mega-stash of fancy chocolates that James accidentally left within puppy reach.

Yup.  Just another member of the family!! :)
