So cold our Champagne turned into a slushy
« Reply #-1 on: December 07, 2013, 11:10:06 PM »
8 degrees this morning when we went into the hot tub - bright and sunny, but so cold that our hands momentarily froze to the door knobs when touched

Because it is the weekend, we naturally wanted to enjoy sparkling wine, and a meat and cheese plate in the hot tub - so far looks normal

30 minutes or so into our morning adventure, soft ice began to develop in the glasses

I've experienced this effect in sodas, beers, and other beverages that are just on the border of freezing - ice crystals that melt moments after they enter your mouth

Costco is now selling their seasonal brie - it is very good and I'd recommend it to anyone that really likes authentic French cheese

The wine looks great!

But a little too cold for me.

The wife went to clean the glass table outside and she said the Windex froze before she could wipe it off :)

Have you tired this stuff?

http://www.vinoslush.com/index.html

Was at the Astoria sea food and wine festival and they turn 2 buck chuck into pretty good stuff.  The wife does not like red wines but even the like it.  Purchased a couple bags but forgot about them until I saw this.

Thanks for the comments, folks; I must admit that it is really cold getting to the tub, but the hot water experience made it worth it for me.  We were piping George Winston's album, Winter out to the tub - perfect music for the cold solitude - for me the simplest pleasures are the best and most memorable

I have had a hotub for the last 12 years and the winter time experience has worn off as I got older. That mad dash down the 30 feet of frozen deck just didn't seem worth it any more to me so I now drain mine near the middle of Nov.
Driving to work this morning and the temp was -40 below F I sure wouldn't be out in the hotub anyway  :)

It's so cold here this morning the snow is knocking on the door to come inside  ??? ??? ???
