Smoked Salmon & Pepperoni Pizza
« Reply #-1 on: February 06, 2014, 01:30:02 PM »
So I needed something to take to work for my lunch. Well pizza is always good so working with one of my last dough balls I was looking in the fridge for toppings. Hmmm....smoked salmon was in there along with a small bag of pepperoni. Out they came. Got some smoked pizza cheese done in Nov. 2013 and a small snack stick from my last batch of sticks. Added green pepper and some mushrooms. The sauce is store bought, not the best but its fast and simple.

So here we are:

Got the meat all cut up:

Got the dough on the peel:

Got the sauce spread out:

Toppings added and off to the kitchen oven @500 using a small 12 inch stone:

Let it cool and in a zip lock bag for the drive to work tonight.

You got me thinking that smoked salmon, tomato, onion, cream cheese and some capers might work good for a pizza ;)

I bought this one from Canadian Tire a couple of years ago.  They had them in the BBQ section. I use the flat side as the pizza sides on and off easier.

One of the sites I visited for pizza said the pizza crust is just the serving tray for your ingredients. And that is open to your imagination. In my case most times it's what I have hanging around in the fridge  ;D

Been at work now for a couple of hours, did my rounds and time to fill the belly  :)  So this first piece tasted just like a pepperoni and cheese pizza. Maybe to much pepperoni that drowned out the flavor of the smoked fish. Although reheating the pizza I could smell the smoked salmon. All in all it was tasty and hit the spot.
