Do y'all know about whether amphibians hibernate or not?

I was wondering if amphibians such as Turtles hibernate or not.  The reason I'm asking there once was a Turtle in Hawaii that seems to have disappeared and I was wondering if he was hibernating, migrating, or doing some other -ing. 
Any light y'all can shed on this dilemma would really allow me to sleep better at night....as well as the daytime.

I don't know whether or not amphibians hibernate or not, but turtles certainly do.

DON'T PAY THE RANSOM! I ESCAPED! Got home last night after a great trip.

For the record, turtles are reptiles, not amphibians (although there are amphibious turtles - go figger). I'd post photos showing the difference but dee probably can't see any pictures he doesn't post himself.
