Title: Ordered Mine Today
Post by: pmillen on May 23, 2014, 11:36:23 PM
Based on spuds' post, Phone call from PBC (http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=9270.0), I'm thinking that it may ship in about a month.

I'm not good at waiting.

Wow! I've been away from the forums for a while (but back now, to get some advice in another thread). I had no idea the backorders were that long. I guess that's a good thing. The PBC is a great product and the word must be getting out!

Great decision on your purchase. My PBC is my go to rig now. I still like pork butts on my BEESR, but everything else gets the PBC treatment. I just stocked up on Kingsford, as Kroger's has it on sale.

It will be here before you know it. We're expecting some great cooks and photos from you!

I was all set to purchase a Weber Smoky Mountain but ran across the PBC at the last minute and was blown away by all of the reviews and videos.  I ordered mine two days ago and was told it would be delivered the last week in June.  More time for research I guess

Latest chapter—

Marcia and I were messing around in the kitchen when the phone rang.  Caller ID said area code 303 and Noah Glanville.  Marcia asked, "Do you know anybody named Noah Glanville?"

"Nope"

"Well, I'm not answering.  It's probably telemarketers."

In a few minutes she put the message on the speaker.  "Paul, this is Noah Glanville from Pit Barrel Cooker.  I'm calling to thank you for your order for a Pit Barrel Cooker.  Orders are outstripping our supply and I wanted to tell you that we won't be able to ship your Pit Barrel Cooker until the third week in June.  I know you'll be happy with your Pit Barrel Cooker but be sure to call me at ... if you want to discuss any aspect of your new Pit Barrel Cooker..."

He must have said Pit Barrel Cooker 10 times in that message.  She was staring at me the entire time she was listening.  She had to turn away to disconnect the call and when she turned back toward me she asked, "What's a Pit Barrel Cooker.  Is that a Grill?"  (We already have three on the deck.)

"Ummm, sort of."

She let go a sigh that I suspect Muebe would have heard if he was outdoors.

Jeez, that's why I still love her after more than 50 years.

Mrs LVC caught on to me one day when I ordered something, while she was watching, and I never pulled out my credit card.  I had memorized the 16 digit card number, expiration date, and CVV from using it so much.  ::)
