Birthday Butts..

What's someone do on their birthday? Wake up at 4 am and put on some butts. :o
10 lb and a 9 lb going in the PBC.
Did the sparky umbrella trick too. Helped with freezing rain.

Birthday Butts..
« on: February 23, 2013, 07:01:01 PM »
These were sons of guns. It took 6.5 hours to get them to an it of 150. Then I foiled them.
After 10 hours and charcoal winding down, I pulled the smaller butt and finished it in the oven. Troops were anxious, so I pulled at 195 and cooled for a bit.
I left the other one stay in the PBC.
I pulled the tray for a quick shot after it was attacked.

The other butt never got past 190, into the oven it went.
I took this one to 202 and was much happier with ease of pulling.
Took lots of notes today. Wind, rain and a full load of meat was a new experience. Enough typing, time to celebrate a bit.  Cheers

Thanks Aaron. I made homemade baked beans with pineapple and red potato salad too. Yes, the kitchen is my happy place, so it was a very good day. : )
